| Angela Lloyd
Assembly:
Angela Lloyd presents story and song, sharing her constant companions of Rhythm, Rhyme and Melody. Infused with the magic of a childhood spent in Caracas, Venezuela, this musical performance reflects the best of oral and literary traditions. This award-winning teller is also a one-woman band who plays the autoharp, tenor guitar, cuarto, and spoons. She is an absolute virtuosa on the washboard. Lloyd's whimsical presentation is appropriate for all ages, with accommodations made for the specific age range of the audience. Her stories and songs are drawn from traditional world folktales, original works based on personal experience and the best in children's literature.
A Quilt of Poetry, Story and Song highlights transformation and creativity with an emphasis on the special connection between music and words. Patchwork quilts and the sunbrella provide a stunning background to this whimsical performance, which includes the washboard's transformation from laundry tool to musical instrument. This show is also available in a bilingual format for grades K-2.
